Open Quote Calvary Academy is a huge disappointment and their curriculum is behind other Christian Schools. Recently we transferred our 1st grade daughter as she was being labeled by the school administrators after being a student for 6 years (starting as an infant). She was written up for doing a cartwheel after the recess whistle blew, and another time for continuing to play in the snow after recess . Finally, I was phoned during work and informed that my child was being written up for completing her AR Test (read a book and test on that book) when she did not finish the book – this school took this incident as a LEVEL 10! After these and many more RIDICULOUS instances, we immediately enrolled her in Cornerstone wherein we found that she is very behind. Calvary curriculum is behind other schools such as Cornerstone-1st graders are writing/reading only cursive (no handwriting), speaking/writing Spanish and doing fractions. Also, we were told by the Principal to spank our daughter with a ‘wooden spoon’ because wooden spoons don’t leave marks. Then with our hands hug her and let her know why she is getting spanked. Disappointing school, but the daycare is wonderful Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
