As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child has ADHD and had a wonderful experience at Belle Aire. We moved to be in the Belle Aire elementary school district, and we are so glad we did! My two other children, 3rd and 5th graders are also attend and are doing very well! I love the Principle and all the staff! When my eldest first came to Belle Aire, she was given an IEP .In attendance at the meeting there was an entire team that sat down and went over the game plan for our child's academic success! Very professional and attentive! My 5th grade son is in the school Band and loves it! My 3rd grade daughter has made great strides academically as well! PTA involvement is awesome, and many of our parents volunteer on a regular basis. I can't say enough good things about our school! Close Quote

Open Quote Belle Aire is a wonderful school. I used to reside in District 204, and my son attended Reba Steck. We moved to Downers Grove, and Belle Aire is a much better school than Reba Steck. Belle Aire focuses on STEM. The teachers are excellent at Belle Aire. We are very happy we moved into District 58. The test results are not accurate. By choice, there are parents like myself that object to the PARCC testing, and my children do not take the test. 20 of the children at Belle Aire did not take the PARCC test last year, due to parental choice. Thus, the testing results for PARCC show lower scores than if all children participated. For example, my son is in 6th grade taking 7th grade math. If he does not participate in the PARCC testing, the average results are lower because his higher score is not included. This year, unless 95 of the children at Belle Aire participate in the PARCC testing, State law mandates that Belle Aire will be listed as underperforming. The State is trying to force PARCC testing on our children by threatening our property values by listing any schools with less than 95 children participating in testing as "underperforming". If Belle Aire shows up as underperforming in future years, it is because parents' opposition to PARCC. Belle Aire is a great school. Close Quote

Open Quote My two sons both attended Belle Aire from K-6th grade, and they had a very good experience. The smaller size of Belle Aire vs other area elementary schools is really an advantage, and the faculty and administration were top notch and personable. I think my sons were very well prepared for Middle School and (well) beyond by their time at Belle Aire. Close Quote

Open Quote My kids had a great experience in this schools. There are several outstanding teachers there, who go the extra mile to keep kids challenged & engaged. I have been very impressed with the caliber of teacher that this school attracts.

The parents there are all very involved & do an awful lot to help facilitate kids' activities there. Very active group of families.

There are no walls at this school, which actually seemed to help my kids better tune out distractions. One of my kids has ADD, so the ability to tune out distractions is a really big deal for us. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
