As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child is currently a 7th grader at Ilima Intermediate school. She easily transitioned from elementary into Middle School. The school prepared her by having Orientations and School visits while she was in 6th grade. Also, during the summer, she participated in their summer program and got to learn about drama. I get regular updates on my daughter's progress at school through the infinite campus app. The teachers also communicate and send reminders through Remind. I like that my daughter's teachers are available after-school to provide her help when she needs it. She makes use of their tutoring hours and shared that her teachers are very patient. They have helped her understand concepts she has difficulty with. The school offers a variety of clubs. My daughter is in the dance club. She was very excited that her club was featured in the Honolulu Police Departments Dance Challenge video. Another activity my daughter enjoys is having flag football during her advisory class. This allows her to have fun and create new friendships. Close Quote

Open Quote This school provides a well-rounded experience that addresses the whole child. I encourage anyone who has any doubts to meet with the school's administration, teachers, staff or students. Talk about aloha and ohana.... This is the place to send your child in Ewa Beach hands down, bar none. My family trusts this school. Why?Their teachers care and give it their very best. They know who they are and what they can do to inspire your child to learn both in and outside of the classroom setting. You want your child to learn how to be adaptive and be a lifelong learner? Be sure to check out Ilima! #IlimaWay Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
