Young Americans Christian School

Our daughter just completed her first year at YACS and we had an amazing experience. Our 2nd child will be attending this upcoming fall and we are excited. The YACS family (parents, staff and students) set the tone for a pleasant Christian education. I highly recommend this school.

Have had close friends at YACS four years, including 2014/15 school year.
Everything was very good first two years. Their entire family was excited to have their children in such a great Christian school.

From what we learned the teachers and curriculum would have been given five stars the first two years. Care and concern from office staff also five stars.

However, in recent years our friends have talked of far too many teachers leaving. Empty promises made to the students, and parents, by the 'school', then when promises don't happen there is no explanation, they're just ignored.

This school year (2014-15) our friends were introduced to Common Core math. They only learned of change when their children brought home math homework. So far only math is Common Core.

I'm sure this school started with pure intentions, but in recent years it seems to not be looking for the best interests of the students. True discipline is not here, though the office have told our friends and other parents there are no problems at YACS.

We actually feel sorry for the staff. They seem to be great people caught with needing to keep their job, but having to be puppets for a few who actually run the school.
By the way, the Principals don't run the school. They are puppets also.

I decided to post this because our friends were quite concerned for their children if they posted anything.

Take this for what you want, but I feel better getting the word out.

Be careful, be very careful if you're considering YACS for your child/children.
