Open Quote I have two children that have had the privilege of attending Hubbard Elementary. They have both been pushed to their full potential. The teachers and administrators are attentive and caring. They encourage children to succeed inside and outside the classroom. This school's technology is above and beyond what most schools have. Technology is used by teachers through the use of Active Boards, ipads and their multiple computer labs. This school is definitely preparing children for the world we live in NOW. This is also a "bring your own technology" to class school that is allowed through strict guidelines, monitoring, and registration procedures. Not only is technology top notch, but the arts are still an integral part of the school's weekly curriculum with Art, Music and Band classes for all students. We are fortunate to have such a World Class school in our community! Close Quote

Open Quote NO COMMUNICATION! My children have been here for just over a month and since day one it has been a horrible experience! I am exploring every other option to withdraw my children from SEHS as soon as possible. The bus drivers allow bullying and not only do they condone it, they encourage and participate. There is absolutely no communication between teachers and parents. Instead of teachers addressing a learning issue with a parent they send nasty notes home saying kids don't follow instructions. When you send home a pic of a lake and a list of farm animals there is no way to make a list of which animals live in the lake or under the water, sheep don't swim. They make learning nearly impossible for children who fall outside of the box. Instead of trying different teaching methods or asking the parents for suggestions that might help the child learn, they simply ignore the child and stop sending work home. This is not acceptable! My children were mid year transfers and they were just tossed in the mix, neither teacher asked any questions about my kids. No questions about habits, learning patterns, behavior, nothing, they just gave them a number and didn't even try. Terrible school! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
