Open Quote I have four children in this school district and I love our community. In my experience, the strengths are the cultural diversity, fine arts, STEM opportunities and overall care from staff and teachers. The areas of growth would be support for children with learning disabilities. Overall Gwinnett county schools are among the best in the state of GA and your children can get a great education at Taylor. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers here are the worst communicators that i have ever seen. They treat the students as if they are grown ups expecting too much from little children. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers are great and try very hard to meet the needs of their students. But Mrs. Cobb and the rest of the administration are bringing this place down. It used to be a good school. Now the bullies get away with harassing their victims, special needs students' needs are not being met, and parents are told that they are overly dramatic and causing a bit deal over nothing... when all we want is for our children to BE safe at school, to go to school each day without being afraid, and for the school to do what is required in a child's IEP to get them the education they need. Open Quote The school principal and other staff in charge have been consistently rude and overbearing to parents, don't support their teachers in classroom discipline issues, and in general are terrible at managing the school. The overall school environment is stressful and not a loving, caring place for the children and families. If I could afford to move or chose private school I would. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
