Open Quote The school does poorly with communications. Since fall of 2017, it is like no one cares. They don't care about students and students are not treated with respect. Close Quote

Open Quote My son did not have good experience with his 5th grade Teacher. She does not care to explain him what he was given a Star. My son is very upset and keeps saying that he is penalized for someone else talking in class. This is not the first time. My son strongly believes that he is blamed for no reason and has developed some kind of hatred for his 5th grade teacher. We moved from Dallas and have never experienced such kind of behavior. We trust our son more than anyone else. When we emailed his teacher and offered to talk in person, she does not even encourage talking. It's pathetic to see such behavior from a 5th grade teacher. I never recommend this school. Close Quote

Open Quote We absolutely love Medlock Bridge Elementary and we are so thrilled that we chose this area. We have a brand new principal who started this year who is warm and welcoming. We could not have picked a better school to send our children to!! Close Quote

Open Quote You need to take care of your kid for everything... You need to inquire about any extracurricular activities... You need to prepare (100%) your kid for any external events (like Tech Fair etc.).
Staff/Teacher loses important documents you submitted... But they claim that you never submitted...
Also communications are awful, do not expect call back for voice message or immediate response on emails... Best thing is to talk in person over anything...
School is ranked within first 50 becz of parent's continuous involvement. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
