Moss Park Elementary consistently outperforms the Orange County and Florida state averages in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subjects. Moss Park Elementary outperforms nearby schools such as Vista Lakes Elementary, Vista Pointe Elementary, and Hidden Oaks Elementary in academic performance across all grade levels and subjects. The school's diverse student population and strong investment in resources, with spending per student increasing from $8,331 in 2019-2020 to $10,087 in 2022-2023, may contribute to its consistent high performance, with a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger for most of the past decade.

Open Quote Rude personnel, Hard to get to school, unsafe traffic conditions with lots of road repairs, almost impossible to drop off or pick up your child, on average it takes an hour. Horrible unhealthy lunches. Not mentioning the fact that some teachers come directly from Disney World. Traffic coordinators literally vicious and nasty. Kids have to sit with no water Under burning sun for 30-40 minutes. Close Quote

Open Quote We have LOVED Moss Park Elementary and would highly recommend this school. Love Principal Moss - she is very engaged, enthusiastic and goes above and beyond the call of duty in her role. We've had a great experience with the teachers, the gifted program is excellent and there are a lot of great activities and programs for the kids beyond the required subjects. Our daughter loves it here, and our son will be in K in a year. He has had some delays, and we hear this is the school you want your kids to go to if they've had some challenges. Excellent Speech/Language Therapist, great staffing expert, Penny Lowe, and really easy to work with. I knew MPE had high ratings when we moved here, but had no idea how great this school would be for our family. Emphasis on character, an excellent education and challenging & caring teachers. Love it! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
