Open Quote As a student, I completely discourage any parents from sending their students here. As a strait A student, who is involved in both athletics and clubs, I can honestly tell you the school is all aspects is crap. My tennis team has the worst coach I have ever had, and zero funding from the school. We don't even have a bus to go to away games. Even though were ranked third in the state, the school won't even pay for a bus for transportation. Instead our coach drives us to away games in his car. BEsides that as an AP student, I've passed my exams and excelled solely based on my own determination. Besides that the hostile environment I'm surrounded with is no help. THere are constant fights all around the campus, most are gang related. The campus is worn down and gross. I'v never used the school bathrooms in the past three years because they are so increadibly disgusting. Gas station bathrooms are cleaner. Classrooms are old, dusty, and smelly. Guidence counclers are thought of as a joke, they are absolutly useless and increadibly hard to see. When I needed a recomdation from mine, It took me a week before I could finally talk to her, and then almost two weeks before she finally wrote it. The student body is also less than impressive. MOst students party non stop and smoke and drink all weekend long. Students who aren't involved in this, study non stop and have zero social life. Ill be a senior next year and can honestly tell you my time here has been less than memorable. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
