The school's high chronic absenteeism rate and the socioeconomic factors it faces may be areas that the school and district need to address to further improve student outcomes.

Open Quote I have 2 children that I open enrolled into this school due to our regional school (Peace River Elementary) being a all year round school & having a school uniform policy. For the past 3 years I have been very pleased with this school however this year there have been soo many changes include taking away award ceremonies & coteaching & now my children are bringing home information regarding discussions about next year's school uniforms? I really hope they don't change the dress code for next year to school uniforms or my children will be going to a different school. No I'm not a supporter of school uniforms, I am a supporter of choice. I would like to have the choice of what clothes I put my children in & not be told what they have to wear. My children have autism & if you are a parent of an autistic child then you know that some clothes they can not wear due to material irritation. Most of the uniforms are collared polo shirts & will extremely irritate an autistic child. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
