Open Quote The school is severely underfunded and lacks a clear direction. They focus more on fundraising and keeping things the way they were than establishing a new direction centered around academic excellence. most of the teachers are not certified and classes lack the proper materials to facilitate learning. A public school is better suited to meet the ever changing needs that a child will have. Close Quote

Open Quote Enrolling our children in Saint James School was the best decision we could have made for our children. The teachers are wonderful and the education is supurb. I have talked to many parents of children who graduated from Saint James and they have all said their children were very well prepared for high school and had an advantage over many other freshman. I also like the size of the school. Most grades have two classrooms, so while it is still small enough to know everyone, the children have the opportunity to meet many friends. There are lots of great extras like Art, Gym, Spanish, Band, Intramurals, Basketball, Drama Club, Environmental Club, and Chess Club to name a few. Also, the children have MANY service opportunities as they progress throughout the grades, which instills in them a sense of community and a spirit of giving. I highly recommend Saint James School! About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
