As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have had two kids graduate and one still at Corona.

Like all schools, this school has some very good teachers and some teachers that should have been sent packing 10 years ago.

This school is all about the squeaky wheel. With 3000 students, if your kid is getting a raw deal on something, the only way to fix it is for the parent to step in, otherwise you'll get nothing.

Get to know the Principal...he is the best advocate you can have there. Bypass the registrar when possible ... she's new at the job and doesn't get that she's providing a service and you are the customer. Close Quote

Open Quote Hello,

My wife and I have sent our four daughters to Corona del Sol and are extremely happy with both the academic experience and extra-curricular experience as well.

Now that our youngest is graduating we will sorely miss our time at CDS. Highlight areas include:

Challenging yet fun AP instructors and curriculum.

Cousenling designed for success and college placement.

Athletic programs that not only support a winning attitude but a comraderie focus. Our daughters participated in swim, diving, softball and volleyball. All had State championship experiences. All four were well trained in practice theory and team building. Corona del Sol Aztecs understand the idea of team work and never giving up.
My wife and I had wonderful relationships with all the educators at CDS. The rare times our daughters had challenges, their teachers always contacted us personally to discuss their concerns and ideas to resolve the situation.
The following demonstrates the productivity of the programs at CDS.
Eldest daughter graduated University of Arizona.
Second daughter graduated with Honors and is attending University of Texas at Austin. UT is a very difficult school to get into for out of state students.
Third daughter graduated with Honors and is attending Northern Az Univ.
Fourth daughter graduated with Honors and is also attending NAU.
All four daughters were involved in Student Council and other programs,e.g. Choir (outstanding choir program), Big Brothers and Big Sisters the list goes on.
In closing I must say, parental involvement in any HighSchool program is essential and CDS thrives because of this.
Thanks to all who helped our daughters evolve into great adults. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
