As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My children have gone to this school for two years, three with the beginning of this year. Not only do I love this school but, my children love this school too. The teachers and staff are wonderful; they are truly focused on your child's success. Mr. Brody, the school's Principal, is the type of person that every school should strive to obtain. He takes a large role in motivating the children to do their best. I believe that is also why the children that go here are, for the most part, well mannered and kind.

My children have been acknowledged several times for their behavior and their in-school ethics as students of the week/month which gave them a great sense of pride, self worth, confidence and having a real place in their school. As a parent, I appreciate Paseo Verde's zero bullying policy and the open lines of parent teacher communication. Also, Nurse Karen is a very passionate and caring woman that goes above and beyond her job with the children making me feel that my children are in safe and capable hands.

With all of the personal care and interest this school places in their kids you may be expecting Paseo Verde to be lacking in curriculum, however, that assumption could not be further from the truth. The students here are nurtured in every possible way and due to that, they are thriving intellectually. A look at their state exam scores prove it. Honestly, you could not ask more of a public institution or a private one at that.

Open Quote Although this school is technically "Excelling" it only means that they teach the test very well. My child came home with worksheet after worksheet of things on the Aims test and they spend most of their school year teaching the test to the children in order to get the label "Excelling." Some of the teachers are GREAT although too many of them shouldn't be teaching anyone's child. We've been here 3 straight years and have learned more and more about the whole climate of the school as we go and it just gets worse and worse. They spend more time degrading the children than uplifting them and encouraging them to learn. As far as a no bullying school...get real. I've been to administration so many times due to my child getting bullied this year and they've done absolutely NOTHING. They act like they are concerned yet their lack of any action says it all. This school is another true example of how far DOWN Peoria Unified School District is going. They also dont offer free full time Kindergarten like you can find elsewhere in the valley. Nearby Surprise offers it! Dont be food by the title "Excelling." It doesn't mean ANYTHING. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
