As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school has really gone down hill. The administration is lacking. They simply don’t deal with any issues. There are constantly fights. The bathrooms are not only filled with vapes but now it’s moved to weed since they never handle it and don’t even attempt to.

There are very few teachers left that actually teach or have an interest to. They do not prepare the students for college in any way. In fact the children with above average grades are left to slip the the cracks and completely on their own due to the amount of below average students being so high.

My child is reported absent consistently when in attendance. I receive calls from her several times a week that she’s unattended in classes without a teacher or any adult present. I do not feel my child is safe while there and have now made other arrangements for the rest of high school education. If I had known then what I know now I would have homeschooled from day one of moving here. Close Quote

Open Quote BSHS is a small high school with a lot to offer in spite of the lack of government resources. The teachers are caring, like to challenge the students, and dedicated to their jobs. The principals are always around for the student body as well as the teachers. Most students are very respectful and many of high achieving students. An education is only as good as the student's dedication and drive and BSHS pushes its students to achieve greatness! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
