Open Quote I am a parent and all three of my children are attending HAPA. I know the leaders and staffs are working very hard days and nights so that my children can get the best the education. I know they push my children to learn and there are a lots of homework, but we as parents do have to do our parts as well (helping our children with their homework). I remembered when my K5 read a book...love it! It takes a lot of hard work and time to make this happened! I know I put my children in good hands!!! Close Quote

Open Quote This school would be better if it had a better principal. She is more concerned with making the children be silent or making sure they stand in a straight line than she is with teaching them English. Considering that HAPA doesn't have the behavioral problems that so many other Milwaukee schools do, it is inexcusable that the students can perform better. It is sad that so many of these students can't read at their own grade level. But at least they can stand in a straight line. I guess that will help the students when they are struggling to fill out their college applications. Close Quote

Open Quote I transferred my children to this school one year ago and I am very impress with the school. My children are in a safe environment where I don't even have to worry about bullies because there are no such thing as bullies at this school and my children have excel tremendously. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
