While Lincoln Elementary's overall academic performance is in the middle range compared to other Wisconsin elementary schools, the school stands out in its support for certain student subgroups. The school's performance for Hispanic students and English Language Learners is significantly higher than the state average, indicating that it is effectively addressing the needs of these populations. However, the school's performance for other subgroups, such as White students and students with special needs, is more in line with or slightly below the state average. The school's high chronic absenteeism rate, which has risen from 10.6% in 2018-2019 to 21.9% in 2022-2023, is a concern and may be contributing to its academic challenges.

Comparing Lincoln Elementary to nearby high-performing schools, such as North Lake Elementary and Rossman Elementary, provides valuable insights. These schools consistently outperform Lincoln Elementary on academic assessments, suggesting that factors beyond just funding and class size may be influencing the school's performance. By analyzing the school's data and learning from the practices of these higher-performing schools, Lincoln Elementary may be able to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance student outcomes across all areas.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote There is a real lack of leadership in this school from the top down. The special education program and school counseling is in dire need of an overhaul. The special needs teacher is not the right fit. How can children with comprehension and language problems be expected to benefit and learn when they can not understand what is being taught to them because of the teacher's heavy accent. We are not giving the kids with special needs the best opportunity to succeed. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
