Open Quote St. Nicholas Catholic School has been a blessing to my family for the last 4 years. Beyond feeling truly like a family on campus,
has really impressed me of late is their plan for distance learning in light of the global pandemic we are facing. My two children had no extra down time-they were up and running with their learning the next available school day. This is a testament to the amazing staff and teachers! St. Nicholas Catholic School is teaching my children to be better people and I'm so grateful for this precious school! Close Quote

Open Quote Our son thrives in this school environment! The teachers are caring and supportive. They allow flexibility in the curriculum to leverage students' strengths as well as shore up weaker areas. The school is a community with high expectations about how kids treat each other. Parents are highly engaged and seen as partners in their child's education. We consider the entire school as extended family! Close Quote

Open Quote I am a teacher at St. Nicholas, but I am also a parent. I have one child who has graduated from St. Nicholas and one child who still attends in Middle School. St. Nicholas is a unique community - more like a family than a school - where children of all ages learn, play, and pray together. St. Nicholas provides academic rigor, but also guides the faith and overall development of its students. It most definitely teaches the whole child and does so in an environment that is warm, inviting, and engaging. The teaching staff and community of parents work together to create a school experience that is truly special. Close Quote

Open Quote A 1950's style education for a 2020s world. While St Nicks says they are producing leaders for the future, they are actually producing the store clerks and assembly line workers of the future-people who follow orders and check their creativity at the door. And these are not jobs the economy has in surplus right now. Students that excel here have been able to overcome the challenges faced. Go under the radar. Follow the rules. Don't get noticed. Good intentions. Bad implementation. Bad leadership (maybe corrected?). We would have been better off without the St. Nicks of the 2010s. Hope the 2020s shows improvement. Kids do pull together, as kids do, and occasionally a teacher will quit or retire in silent protest. Former students here may end up doing very well in the future because of the challenges faced. However, I'd rather they have a different experience than the very narrow one offered at St Nicks (of the 2010s). And while you might expect a religious based education to be compassionate, no evidence of that here if you fall outside the strict guidelines imposed. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
