As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is a letter I wrote to my friends on facebook today:

After homeschooling for 1/2 a year, I met with my kindergarteners new principal today! I think the biggest thing that came across today was the principal and special ed teacher that did the star and math testing in the school really care a lot about the kids. They also seemed to really know and like my kid (after only 3 weeks)! I also learned the teacher went a couple of extra miles for my son already! My son's in a really great environment!

As far as the work goes... my son tested in the highest reading catagory in the star test for K/1st grade. He has already been placed in the highest reading level for his class. The school doesn't do a K pull out math program so the teacher throws in a few harder questions for the kids who are doing well in math. (They also explained how the teacher has a tier structure for multiple learning levels in math.)

I walked away from the meeting knowing my son was in good hands. I also think the grin on my sons face at the end of the day and the requests to hang out with ALL his new friends goes a long way too! It's going to be a great 2nd half of the year! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
