As part of the Loudoun County Public Schools district, which is ranked 24th out of 130 school districts in Virginia, Aldie Elementary consistently ranks among the top elementary schools in the state.

Aldie Elementary's academic performance is exceptional, with students demonstrating significantly higher proficiency rates in SOL (Standards of Learning) tests compared to the Loudoun County and Virginia state averages across various subjects and grade levels. For example, in the 2023-2024 school year, 92.31% of 3rd-grade students at Aldie Elementary were proficient or better in SOL Mathematics, compared to 78.75% for Loudoun County and 70.11% for Virginia. The school's diverse student population, with a racial makeup of 60.36% White, 4.5% African American, 13.51% Hispanic, 12.61% Asian, and 8.11% two or more races, is also noteworthy, as it is higher than some nearby schools like Sycolin Creek Elementary and Creighton's Corner Elementary.

Aldie Elementary's academic excellence is further highlighted by its relatively low student-teacher ratio, ranging from 10.3 to 14.6 over the past three school years, which is lower than the ratios of many nearby schools. Additionally, the school has a lower percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 14.41% to 21.62% over the past three school years, compared to some nearby schools with higher rates. These factors, along with the school's consistent 5-star rating from SchoolDigger, suggest that Aldie Elementary is providing a high-quality educational experience that is not necessarily matched by all of the surrounding schools.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is a gem for my family. We love the small school vibe and how involved and caring all staff are. My children have excelled and their reading scores in particular have greatly improved in the year and a half they have been at Aldie. It is a real community. The principal, Ms. Stephens is wise caring and very involved in every part of the students day. The first grade teacher, Ms. Burgin, should win an award for how well she conducts her classroom and creates a peaceful and fun learning environment. The second grade teacher, Ms. Cierski, is a champion also. The third grade teacher works very well with the kids and is fun also. I have not had a 4th or 5th grader in this school yet. There are lessons taught at Aldie that go beyond academics as they celebrate character traits and honor good citizenship and even our Veterans. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
