I would not recommend sending your children to this, especially if your child has some type of learning disability. Some of the teachers are not helpful, are condescending towards the parents AND towards the students, and have a complete disregard of some student’s learning disabilities. There is one specific teacher who does not own up to her poor teaching skills, places blame on other things or people, and just seems bothered by the fact that one of her students has a learning disability. Just because this school is free and advertised as a ‘charter’ school does not mean the education being taught here is of high quality. Some of the teachers at this school do not even have teaching credentials. I highly advise finding a different school if you have considered sending your child to this school. Close Quote

My children have attended this school since it opened and although I had a hard time communicating with 1 of the 12 teachers they had in this time frame I don't know that you will go anywhere and have 100 percent perfect support and communication. The principal has always been very easy to get a hold of and problem solved with. I absolutely love project child and feel it has given my children great life skills to aid them in becoming successful later in life. Close Quote

This school does not properly handle bullying issues. They like to deflect away from the issue at hand and ultimately find an excuse for the behavior. My child has been continuously bullied and I was told because it didn't happen on campus there is nothing they can do. Wrong answer it is occurring while my child travels to and from school which is clearly stated in the R277-613-1 Administrative code for utah schools as a form of bullying and is a part of what the school should address. The vice principal stated she 'pulled my childs cumulative file' and he has history of behavior. As if that was an excuse for a child bullying my child. With that said my child is not a behavioral issue and that should not be brought up when a parent needs a bullying issue addressed. Close Quote

This school is so great! I have 3 children here and all the teachers have been so supportive and willing to help my children grow not only academically, but socially as well. The staff is always available by email and willing to set up meeting times if there are any concerns. The children's progress is available online through their website. I do agree it is harder to know what they are studying day by day because this year they have gone to not having homework every night like most schools. This is a wonderful step to acknowledge the fact that homework at this young age has no benefit. I found asking my children's teachers about upcoming subjects or asking my child about what they are learning is filling the gaps of not knowing. Now that our children do not have hours of homework each night we are now able to enroll them in after school activities and have more family time each night with out the worry of it hurting them academically! As a parent of a child that has been know to act out, I assure you they take the matter very seriously. They work with each student to help them and not just give up on them. The staff, from principal down to the teachers, refuse to properly handle children who act out. Instead of appropriate disciple, they choose to ignore the issue or sugar coat the problem. Then, children are praised and rewarded for short term positive behavior, which should already be expected. Their sense of child entitlement is ridiculous and communication is very spotty, so it is difficult to know what your child is being taught or how they are performing academically in each of there classes.
