Open Quote Several things should be cause for concern before considering this school.

1) No accreditation process. Teaching is inconsistent and there is no way to ensure any standards -- academic or otherwise.

2) They teach to the middle and cannot teach to children who are different, whether the child is advanced or has any challenges. Forget it if the child needs intellectual stimulation due to high IQ and bored with what the teacher decides to teach or if a child has any social or developmental delays.

3) Bullying is permitted to exist, not only in front of the teacher and other parents but also by a teacher as well. When brought to the administration's attention rather than addressing it, they became defensive.

4) Carden Method is a philosophy but the schools are independently owned and operated. Some may be good but this one is not.

Any good teacher at any of the local schools, public and private, will teach what Highlander promotes as a special "Carden Method." Don't get suckered into this trap. For the sake of your child, keep looking. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
