Open Quote What makes PCA so great is the fact that the teachers truly care about the students. Some of the teachers I have had at PCA have turned into mentors who have taught me more about the subjects that I love to learn about. The environment at Prestonwood is an amazing synthesis between School, Church, and Family. Academic opportunities are supplemented with service opportunities, and service opportunities allow for more time with the teachers who love to mentor students. Family life is also a vital part of Prestonwood because it is the very foundation of the school. I have learned more about myself at PCA and more about my faith at PCA than I would have anywhere else. The emphasis on teaching scriptural truth and higher Biblical knowledge is one of my favorite parts about the school. The teachers are so knowledgable and the faculty are so caring that I couldn't imagine my K-12 education being any better than it has been. Close Quote

Open Quote Since I have gone to PCA every year of my education, I do not have experience in other schools to compare. But I do hear a lot from friends in other schools. Mainly about football, but sometimes I do hear a bit about the school itself. Other schools may be more prestigious or entertaining to go to, but I believe PCA is a fantastic, balanced school centered on Christ. Now, there are always "those people" or the ones who don't fit in to the Christian life. PCA does a great job at offering them many opportunities to learn more about God and Christianity. Of course, they don't always take these chances, but any time they do, they are surrounded by positive influences in the form of students, teachers, and counselors. The facilities are nice and students tend to respect school property most of the time. The only problem this school has is maintaining guidelines and rules. I'll admit, having a dress code is not fun, but we must submit to our authority. The problem is, the authority is looking for the wrong rules to be broken. Almost every class I see someone's skirt that is WAYYY above the knee. I see people with shirts untucked and no belts around every corner. These problems are not the school's to fix, but to influence and oversee. Students do not respect many of the school rules even though it is the right thing to do. But that is not a problem that the school must deal with, and therefore, it does not lose a mark on my rating. Everything else about PCA I love. I can do both Theatre and Marching/Concert Band! I can participate in the STEM group and the Lions Scholar Program. I am even the vice president of our NHS. The school has given us the opportunity to do these things and I feel that I can pursue the subjects I love and the extracurriculars that I enjoy. I am thankful that the school has provided me with support in college planning and I hope in future years that PCA continues to grow and prosper through the Lord and the world. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
