Open Quote Saying that this school is the best school that a person looking to attend a Catholic high school, is ridiculous. Unfortunately people are given the misconception that this is a quality school. Even to compare this school to other Catholic high school in the Houston area is ridiculous. Perhaps in the future this school might be able to contend with other Catholic high schools such as: St. Pius X ,Strake Jesuit, St. Thomas,Incarnate Word Academy, St. Agnes, or Duchesne, but as if now it is not even close to being in their league. I do admire that this school is trying to ensure that its students attend college, but I do believe they are going about it the wrong way. In making the students work while attending school, they are automatically thrusting their students into the world of work. I believe that integrating students into the working world too early is a bad thing. The students get used to working to the point where they might come to the conclusion, "hey there are plenty of jobs I can get without a degree, there is no need for me to go to college." I simply feel that a TRUE college preparatory school should devote it's time to doing just that, preparing the students for college, not skipping the college process and sending them off to work. I personally know students that attend CRJ and according to them this school is basically another public school. This is all simply my opinion. Close Quote

Open Quote small feels like a jail other than the fact that rules aren't enforced but students always misbehave and it's basically the same as a public school everyone does drugs too and no one respects religiously it also shouldnt claim to be "college prep" i gave one star because i had to pick 1-5 Close Quote

Open Quote This school is the best high school I could ever have chosen to attend. It's a brand new school, and I am part of the first class. We get to participate in college prep classes and in a work study program where we work at corporate companies like, banks, law firms, hospitals and so on. Of course any CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL will be strict, but not overly strict. You get into trouble when you are doing something WRONG. We do have a growing sports program, featuring everything except football, but we are starting a flag football team next year. The school is constantly being renovated and improved. New lockers, new desks, new floors, etc. The teachers' lounge was also recently renovated to include TVs and a pool table, BUT the only reason that it was renovated was because the school won a Gallery Furniture competition that gave the school furniture for the TEACHERS LOUNGE. And personally, as a current student, I don't mind this at all. I love my teachers, and they deserve to at least have a nice place to be between classes, since a lot of them put in up to 15 hours a day being with us and helping us with whatever we need. If you're looking for a high school to JUST play sports at, then you shouldn't come here, because at crj, were all about getting into college and having a successful career. This school offers SOOOO many more opportunities compared to other high schools, not only the work study program, but also numerous field trips, clubs, teams, college trips, free tutoring, volunteer opportunities and much more. What I really like is that at my school, students have a voice. Every teacher and staff member knows you personally. And finally, Cristo Rey didn't Brainwash me OR my parents into anything. The only thing they brainwashed me into doing is being a more successful, responsible, and diligent student. I think that many more students should be "brainwashed" into believing that they can be whoever they want to be if they only try their best at all they do. I genuinely love my school, and I wouldn't want to be at any other high school but this one. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
