While the nearby Brookline Elementary, Bastian Elementary, and Thompson Elementary generally perform better than Hartsfield Elementary, these schools also serve student populations with a higher percentage of Hispanic students and lower percentages of African American students. The performance of charter schools in the area, such as The Lawson Academy, Southside Elementary, and KIPP Peace Elementary, is mixed, with some outperforming Hartsfield and others performing at a similar or lower level.
