As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Wynn Seale Metropolitan Elementary School of Design, or “Metro E,” is housed in one of Corpus Christi’s beautiful, historical buildings. Metro E has a unique Fine Arts program were all students, K-6, attend a variety of Fine Arts classes every week. Students in grades K-2 attend a rotation of four Fine Arts classes per week which include Music, Art, and Dance. Students in grades 3-6 attend two student-selected Fine Arts classes all year on an A-Day/ B-Day rotation. Their choices include Band, Musical Theater, Art, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Modern Dance, Piano, Ukulele, and Guitar. Our beautiful Bennett Auditorium “sets the stage” for many of our wonderful performances! As one of the four Fine Arts teachers at our campus, I can assure you that Metro E is the place to be! Close Quote

Open Quote Pretty awesome school just a little older building. The kids LOVE going to fine arts everyday. They also get to choose which fine arts they want, so that's fun too. There are a bunch of options like band, music, theater, dance and even more. There are a lot of parent involvement things to do and many events throughout the year that you can attend with the entire family. The kids really seem to enjoy coming here. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. The only negative thing I have to say is the building is old. It could use some updates but it's an historical building so the updates are limited. Close Quote

Open Quote My three children all went to school at Metro E. They had a wonderful experience and left knowing how to read music, play the piano, dance, and were able perform on stage in extraordinary theater productions. The children get to enjoy a variety of fine arts classes in addition to the required curriculum. Metro E has an excellent staff that truly cares about each and every student. If you are considering Metro E for your child, I encourage you to apply! Close Quote

Open Quote My son and daughter have been going to Metro Elementary for 2 years now and they love it! This is the only elementary school in CCISD that offers a Fine Arts program introducing them to Rhythm Music, Choral Music, Art, Dance, and Piano/Keyboard. The staff there has always been welcoming and I've had no complaints from my children. I highly recommend and encourage anyone to apply to this lottery school. Close Quote

Open Quote I love Metro E! I think it's awesome that the kiddos go to fine arts every day to let out their creative side. Especially when schools only go to fine arts once a week and some schools are trying to cancel fine arts all together. The teachers know what they are doing and try to make learning fun and engaging by doing lots of hands on learning! Close Quote

Open Quote At this school your kids will get to be well rounded with academics and fine arts, such as dance, band, technology, photography, art, choir, guitar, violin etc, you can't get this in a regular school anymore esp. not for K-6th grade. The younger we introduce our children to this the better. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
