As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I attended CCHS and it really isn't a great school to attend. Sure, if you are self motivated, then you will graduate with a high GPA, but that's only if you do your own studies in the off time and it possible in any school. It's not a learning environment in that fights occur 2-5 times a week, bullying is never handled seriously, teachers tend to favor students, and the faculty, I'm guessing out of embarrassment, excuse themselves by saying that other schools have their own problems that nobody knows about, so CCHS, regardless of it's faults, is one of the better schools in Texas. This is only true if inner city public schools and schools that are located in the middle of nowhere that focus on football but can't keep up with updating their resources from the 1980s-1990s are compared to CCHS. When compared to schools that are not too focused on the Texas Assessment test and seem to realize that sports and extra-curricular activities should be reserved for individuals who are capable of keeping consistent As and Bs, CCHS is of a lower tier. Keep in mind that Copperas Cove is located in Texas, a state that does not have high ranking schools in part because the Texas School Board and other organizations affiliated with education seems more concerned with how much money they can milk out of the schools with the exception of schools located in Dallas, has a population of very conservative individuals who take great pride in their state's sports teams more so than their educational standards (or lack of) who will criticize science curriculum that might offend their personal beliefs, and where grade deflation in colleges is strongly encouraged. It's not that great of a school, even if a student has to make the best of it on their own. It's the faculty's responsibility to provide a the necessary resources for students, not act as an extension of the corrupt bureaucracy that allows incompetence and mediocrity to be the maximum that can be achieved. Hopefully, this school and others can work beyond making excuses and finally develop a healthy environment for everyone to utilize.
The only area that CCHS has that is worthy of notice it is the English department, but that's only because it still has very dedicated teachers who know how to teach the course, especially AP and GT (more like FGT, Few Gifted and Talented). I graduated with class of 2005, so I'm not sure if they are still teaching there or not. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
