As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The teachers at Negley are rockstars! If there's a single dud on the faculty there, I haven't met them yet. They are doing the work they love, and it shows. Every single teacher I've met there has expressed a commitment to meet each child wherever s/he is. They also welcome parent involvement, and you'll almost always find parents on campus doing various volunteer activities.

Security at Negley is top-notch - you must show a photo ID to get onto campus, they run your ID through the RAPTOR system to make sure you're okay, and issue a badge. All doors, except the front, are locked, and all faculty and staff wear badges. The kids are safe here, they're getting a good education, and they're having fun. Close Quote

Open Quote My son's experience at this school was horrible to say the least. There was such a lack of supervision that they actually "lost" him for over 30 min and not one person thought they needed to call me!!! I found out when I went to pick him up from his daycare (who by the way FOUND him) at the daycare across the street from the school! That is just one nightmare. We moved and he now LOVES kindergarten. At Negley he was starting to have behavioral issues and bringing home pictures of "monsters/lines in circles". Keep in mind that he was in private PreSchool who ranted and raved over how smart and ready for Kindergarten he was. The pictures he brought home were "smiling and sunny." He was even in the advanced class! His teacher at Negley told me during a parent/teacher conference that he needed to work on his understanding of "patterns"...BUT he came home the other day from his new school, Allen Elementary in Frisco TX, and randomly said "mommy that is a pattern" while we were reading before bed. As a parent your worst nightmare is to watch your child have a bad kindergarten experience. I saw his self-confidence plummet. I'm sure that is bc of the "bully's" he came home talking about. Where does a 5 year old even learn that word! I had numerous discussions with first the teacher, principal, attempted with the Superintendent after he was LOST. I never got my meeting with the Superintendent (shows how much they care huh?) I even went up to his office and sat until someone would talk to me and finally an assistant of some sort came out and wrote down my story ab him being lost, etc. Still two days later no call from any school officials! Which is why we moved and hopefully before any irreversible damage was done in the short MONTH and a HALF we were there. Our nightmare is now over and instead of "monsters" he is bringing home pictures of "smiles" again. Thank you FISD and Allen Elementary! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
