Open Quote Blessed Sacrament School is a school on the decline. Enrollment is consistently down, parents are concerned and the Pastor of the Church is only concerned about fund raising, not the quality of education or treatment of children.

The school offers nothing to the Gifted and Talented children in attendance and is marginal in terms of the education offered. There are other Catholic School choices within the area that offer a far superior education.

The facility is outdated and run down. Children eat lunch in their classrooms, there is no grass on property for them to play and P.E. is offered in a classroom or on the black top out back. The administration is doing it's best, but failure seems eminent. Staff quality ranges from superior to under qualified and non-teaching staff is questionable. Nepotism is rampant in the school.

Religion is a significant focus as would be expected at a Catholic School, but intolerance and judgmental teachings are standard. If your child is adopted, part of a divorced family or not Catholic, judgement is sure to follow. It is astounding to hear how certain staff members are allowed to speak to children. Three separate families in one grade level removed their children from the school because of teacher bullying.

As a family member of children formerly attending the school, I would advise parents to consider alternatives. Close Quote

Open Quote My children have gone to Blessed Sacrament for 6 years. It has been a wonderful school for them. The blend of academics, community service, music, sports, after school care, and religious activities have helped my children to blossom. While there are great public schools in the area we find the family, nurturing environment to be well worth the cost of tuition. We are very pleased with the school and will continue to send our children there. The energy and new activities planed for the current school year are quite exciting. Currently they are fundraising for IPads. I would encourage everyone to check it out! You won't be sorry you did! Close Quote

Open Quote We love Blessed Sacrament School! My daughter has attended for the last 2 years and I couldn't be happier. The facility and staff are so nurturing, while still challenging her. I'm so pleased with her progress, all due to BSS. I encourage everyone to find out about this great environment. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
