Open Quote This feedback is addressing an unfortunate situation where our 2-year old daughter was kicked out of the local Goddard School very abruptly. We used a survey as an opportunity to provide constructive feedback. A survey Goddard sent to us...one we were asked to complete. We were SOLICITED to complete...we did NOT ASK for....a survey. A survey is an opportunity to provide feedback. It is NOT a tool used just to praise. I provided honest feedback based on our perceptions and our experiences within our rights as parents who have a child attending your school. I believe their curriculum has declined over the years and the level of cleanliness has diminished as well, in both the care of our daughter and the facility itself. Still, the rating was a "5 out of 10"...which is average. Although we were hoping for improvement, it was not as if we were completely disgruntled and wanted to remove our daughter immediately.

In my opinion, I think the personal reaction to feedback provided on a survey they asked for was completely unfair. My recommendation is for them to provide the surveys anonymously and do not connect parents to them if you have difficulty receiving constructive feedback. To have the owner call me mid-day and tell me to come remove our daughter from the school and this would be her last day…is just not right or fair. This came after requesting a meeting with the Owner and the Directors to discuss the situation. I do not believe there was any consideration of our daughter's routine, well-being, friends, etc. In my opinion, their actions were completely uncalled for and irresponsible. What did we do wrong??? Again, we completed a survey Goddard sent out requesting feedback. In turn, after a FOUR year relationship with Goddard, with no issues in the past, we were told not to come back. They kicked our daughter out of the school. While the quality of their care was "average" in our eyes, I felt their response to receiving honest feedback that may not have aligned to what they hoped for was unprofessional and disrespectful....in my opinion. We had hoped for a better outcome and hoped for improvement. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
