Summary:

Boyertown Elementary School is a public elementary school serving 647 students in grades K-5 in the Boyertown Area School District in Pennsylvania. The school consistently outperforms state and district averages on standardized tests, with 55.5% of students proficient or better in Math and an impressive 84% proficiency rate in Science.

Compared to nearby schools, Boyertown Elementary has a relatively low percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch (35.24%), which is lower than the nearby Washington Elementary (41.45%) and Earl Elementary (39.13%), and significantly lower than the Pottstown School District schools, which all have 100% free or reduced-price lunch recipients. However, the school's spending per student has fluctuated, ranging from $10,914 in 2020-2021 to $19,776 in 2021-2022, generally higher than nearby schools in the Boyertown Area School District.

While Boyertown Elementary School's student population is predominantly White, the school has seen a gradual increase in the percentage of Hispanic and Asian students over the past few years. This trend suggests that the school community is becoming more diverse, which could present both opportunities and challenges in terms of meeting the needs of a more diverse student population. Additionally, the school's ranking has declined from a high of 329 out of 1,467 schools in 2013-2014 to 633 out of 1,534 schools in 2022-2023, indicating a potential need to address any underlying factors that may be contributing to this decline.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Boyertown elementary school teachers are the meanest I have ever encountered. They will isolate your child form the class they will lie and just bully the kids. Most should in no way be allowed to be teachers to begin with. Kids can and will be difficult they should know this when they decide to teach. The teachers at Boyertown elementary should not be allowed to teach kids under high school age and maybe not even that. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
