As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Arco has been a great place for my kids, they are happy and getting a great education. The community has dealt with challenges over the years, but has always come through. Close Quote

Open Quote My child has been a student for a few years and I plan to have their sibling join them. The school has challenges related to space that are common with a charter school, but the benefits out way the concerns. The staff and teachers are amazing and students not only are strong in Spanish, but Math and English as well. They are also taught to care about one another. This year the school gained an incomparable principal who I have no doubt will push the school forward. The PTO is the most dedicated you will ever see and the Board is present and available as needed. I highly recommend and was not surprised when I saw they were the number 1 charter in Oregon. Open Quote This used to be a great school, but at this point is absolutely pretending to be a school. It is in the process of imploding since they fired the principal mid-year, and both the 1st and 5th grade teachers left mid-year. The 5th grade will be on its 3rd teacher this year, once they find a teacher and stop having subs. They used to pride themselves on being one year ahead in math, but at this point it will be surprising if the test scores are even at grade level in certain grades. The student-teacher ratio may be 17 to 1, but the class size is closer to 28-32. Multiple parents have pulled their children and gone to their neighborhood school already. The board is trying, but they are all volunteer and it seems that at this point it is playing school and keeping as much information from the parents for as long as possible so that they don't all leave at once. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
