As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The new principal is wonderful and is very interactive with the children. The PTA program is very good and there are lots of volunteers for school events. Close Quote

Open Quote Unfortunately Eastwood has suffered under the 8 almost 9 year term of the current principal. As a result of this current administration Eastwood suffers greatly. There is no advocacy for our children, staff members or families. I have never been aware of any meeting called by the principal to discuss issues unless it was directly mandated by the district, mostly relating to the budget, and we are lucky if that happens once per year. It is also usually at 9 am, so our working parents are unable to attend. Our teachers aren't supported and give off the impression that they have given up. Most of them don't participate in extra curricular activities or events unless it is mandatory in their contract. The office staff in unfriendly, hostile and rude. The parents volunteers are unwanted and unappreciated. There are also major issues of retaliation by the principal by any comments or suggestions for improving Eastwood's current situation. We have lost many families and countless staff because of these issues. The district has been informed of these issues in MANY different meetings per year since 2003. Most parents have given up hope as our concerns fall upon deaf ears. State test scores speak for themselves. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
