Open Quote I love working at this school! Most teachers here only teach one grade, which is not the norm for virtual teachers. I am a special education teacher, so I teach K-3rd. Most teachers in virtual schools teach multiple grades with multiple curriculums, even though they are only certified to teach in one area. All of our teachers are certified and highly qualified to teach the grade or subjects that they are assigned. We don't have elementary teachers teaching calculus or calculus teachers trying to teach kindergarten reading. We have an award winning, rigorous curriculum that is not dumbed down, and a supplemental curriculum for students needing remedial help. These programs meet or exceed the state standards and parents can spend more time on things their kids need to learn, and less time on things they have already mastered. Most students are usually a little behind when they first enroll, but they get caught up quickly because they spend quality time with their parents mastering skills without being rushed through lessons, or waiting on other students to finish. We set up zooms (virtual classrooms) with our students and help them learn new skills or fill in the gaps where they missed things. We do "talk time" or "virtual lunch hour" where students can socialize with their classmates in zoom. We encourage participation, although it's not mandatory. I also love working from the safety and comfort of my home! Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter completed first grade at ESchool! She learned so much and received an excellent education. She went from barely reading to finishing chapter books. We love the flexibility and independence offer through virtual learning. It’s a challenging curriculum meant to offer every student a chance to succeed! Close Quote

Open Quote My kindergartner is learning a lot more than his brothers at the same age. This school is not easy, but it's challenging in a good way and my child is reading a lot better than his friends, and his brothers when they were this age. I can help him with things he doesn't understand and go over the lessons more than once until he gets it. That does not happen in the local schools because teachers only have so much time to teach and the kids get it or they don't. I love being able to take more time where I need to and complete other things early and move ahead. We are not wasting any time and we never work longer than 3 hours per day. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
