Vales: Friends Academy preaches Quaker values but doesn’t instill them in their students.

Academics: Students are prepared for college, but a recent high attrition rate of long-time teachers speaks volumes.

Culture: Poorly behaved students run the school. Friends Academy eliminated its consequence structure and replaced it with the words "punishment doesn’t work." FA’s new approach to student discipline & growth is “The Conversation.” Rampant bullying doesn’t stop with a few conversations and no consequences.

Studies show consequences, not punishments, are effective behavioral management tools in education. This change in disciplinary strategy doesn’t seem to be having the desired impact.
