Open Quote There is a tyrannical atmosphere in the East Harlem School.

If you seek a school with a PTA or some other actvitity that "welcome" or invites a relationship between the School, the Parent and the best interest of the child....the East Harlem school is NOT the place to send your child!

BEWARE!!!!
'all that glisters is not gold'

This school is not for Every Child!

If you send your child to this school be prepared to "surrender" your child to this school! as your child will not be allowed to do "anything else" if your child is not in complete submission to the "rules and regulations" of the East Harlem School.

EHS demands a total commitment from the entire family and will suspend a child if the school feels that there isn't a "family commitment"....thus, it is extremely difficult to have a child in the family attend the EHS while another child in the family attend a different school, the East Harlem School is very unyielding!

This school spends much of it time on "discipline and structure" and as a result the academic program leaves room for improvement. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
