As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I went to Mooers Elementary school up to 5th grade and the students and even faculty were prejudice against me and my family because we were Hispanic. The bullying from other students made me bitter at such a young age and although I am better now (and older), my family and I cannot forget. It was such a breath of fresh air to move away from the school and into a more diverse city and school district. There were kind and open individuals at Mooers, but they were hard to come by. The school must work on being a safe and welcoming place for Latinos and other minorities. I hope the school has already been working on this issue. My experience at Mooers was ok, but they should have been actively working on educating and exposing students to other cultures. Even some teachers needed to be educated on culture as some had no understanding as to why my family and I just did things differently, it was not because I was mentally disabled or needed to be put in different classes. It is culturally insensitive and simply insulting. I really hope things at the school are different today. If it hadn't been so horrible then my family would have very likely stayed. Please do not take this review as a message of discouragement, I want to encourage the people of Mooers to implement elements of open-mindedness, awareness, sensitivity, and to make sure that those who may look differently, speak differently, and pray differently are treated as equals. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
