As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I'm not sure how the school was previously but agree it is overcrowded. I'm not impress with the current teacher my child has nor the experience my child is having. My child is introverted and instead of drawing her out, the teacher is causing her to become intimidated and withdrawn. Perhaps the large classroom size is an influential factor which prevents individualized attention. But this particular teacher appears impatient, rushed and largely focuses on the extroverted group of children. She would state my child does not participate enough when my child voices that she does raise her hand but is rarely called upon. This was noted during open house week as well. This teacher has utilize the word "dumb" in front of my child during parent teacher conference which does not appear professional and made references that a 1/4 of the class is smart but not her doing and I believe evaluates her class according to this "smarter" group in the class rather than curriculum standards. I'm not sure if the principal is a strong figure but I wish the principal would develop a teacher's evaluation from parents so parental opinion can be sought to evaluate whether the teacher is truly appropriate for their school setting. Additionally, it also appears a large part of the academically advanced kids attends an academic after school tutoring class in order to succeed here and I can understand considering the large class sizes and possible lack of individualized attention. It's quite unfortunate since they receive great ratings 5-6 yrs before as per "Great Schools" and "Inside Schools". Word of advice for parents with plans to send their child to this school, definitely consider spending time and money on personal academic enrichment. The curriculum is great/challenging but some of the teachers, remains to be seen... Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
