As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is a great disappointment. If it wasn't for the few great teachers in the G&T program, I would probably give it 1 or 2 stars. Starting from the grim and grey look and feel and poorly maintained facilities, which resemble a prison rather than an educational institution, going through the unfriendly and unhelpful staff that you can hardly find at the school office at any point during working hours, and ending with the utterly incompetent principal who's acting like a disrespectful prison guard with both students and parents, and has declared war on the G&T program kids by stuffing them permanently in the noisiest rooms of the school right next to the elevated subway tracks. She is doing absolutely nothing for creating a nurturing and accepting culture in the school. Art, theater and music have been given almost criminal status in this school, with the good teachers fading into obscurity and given no opportunity to showcase the results of their great educational efforts. Physical education is mockery with kids having almost no chance for any meaningful physical activities on the premises of the school. I was very hopeful and open-minded when my child first started, but now I absolutely hate it and will do everything to transfer out of it. It's unhappy and grim environment for a kid to have an early school experience, and no academic program, especially such with just few good teachers as exceptions to a generally disinterested and incompetent group of teachers, is worth putting a young child through this. I truly hope something changes soon before the current principal runs this school into the ground. And for the cheery and unconditionally agreeing with everything pushed out by school staff, no matter how nonsensical it is, please take a look at the flat or declining lines of school performance over the last 5 years, wake up and help do something to revive and save this school. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
