My child has been attending this school for 1.5 years. The school is on an upward trajectory thanks to a dedicated principal and parent body that has the students' best interest at heart. The PA is very active and has brought about positive change (discussions about race/inclusion, etc). The programs offered are phenomenal (weekly swimming by Asphalt Green from Pre-k to 5, NYC Ballet, Harlem Grown and many more).

PS125 does share a space with Columbia Secondary School which is a bummer but those kids have their own entrance. It would be ideal if PS125 received more enrollment to force CSS out. Other than that, the school is great and your child will thrive. Unfortunately test scores reflect the demographics of the older kids who reside in the neighborhood but expect that to change due to gentrification in the next few years. Close Quote

This school is an up and coming school with new and dedicated administration. Dedicated staff, strong parental involvement, ethnic diversity , small class size and multiple free extra-curricular activities plays a major role in the progressive improvement of this school. Our son started kindergarten in the fall and we are very happy with the school. We can not compare it to anything but we are amazed at how much he has learned in just 4 month and most importantly for us he is enjoying school and feels at home.

The school has a new principal. She started at the beginning of the school year 2009/10. She took over a school with a lot of problems and has made a lot of progress in creating an entirely new school. Active parents are welcomed and appreciated. There is much space for ideas and implementation.

The school has dual language programs in French and Spanish. Enrichment classes are computer, music & movement, science, social studies, library, swimming and soon art. There is a free after school program.
The facility is phenomenal. Big sunny classrooms, science lab, computer lab, library, art room, swimming pool, gym, an auditorium and a cafeteria. The school is across from Morning Side Park.

We find the teachers qualified, class sizes are small and the student body diverse. In our opinion an excellent school option for Upper Manhattan. PS 125, Ralph Bunche School is a choice school, which means it admits student from across the city. Close Quote
