As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Teachers and administration work to really know our kids from day one. In both hybrid and now fully remote, the school has fostered a warm environment where kids can connect with each other. Teachers guide with personalized feedback and spend extra time to reach all their students they meet them where they are at and push them so that all students are learning and growing at the right pace. Administration and teachers are amenable to feedback and changes that reflect the needs of their students.

The re-energized PTA and SLT committees are working to build a community of families and caregivers with opportunities to serve, celebrate, and come together outside of school. All in all, a wonderful place to transition our tweens from elementary to high school. Close Quote

Open Quote I am a parent who was looking for a small school with caring teachers. I did not think that it was remotely possible to get in a public school. But with a little bit of digging I found my tiny gem at Lafayette Academy and it was the best decision I made for my child. When I first started looking into schools I saw a lot of old and negative posts which made me question whether or not I should enrol my child. But after speaking with the principal, the staff and very happy parents. I knew this was the place for my child. I love the safe environment, and the staff is amazing. I can email, call or even request to meet them at any given moment and they are all very happy to spend time with me and talk about any concerns or questions I may have. My child is happy there because his face shows it! My child is happy there because his state tests scores shows it!! And I am happy here because I don't have to worry about his academically or socially! Thank you Mr. Zager, and his staff for their hard work and dedication that they give to their students and the parents of Lafayette Academy. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
