As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have had 4 children attend this school over the last 14 years. Each year that passes the school has degraded in the care and safety of the children. From teachers not even knowing if a student is present in class to out right letting children be bullied and doing nothing, this school needs some serious reorganization of its staff and priorities! Open Quote My son went to Harney Middle School last year and had the worst school year ever! I'm not saying that he was a saint but the staff was not trying at all. I guess they just seen him as another male not trying so why help him or contact me. When they did contract me it was almost to late. It just so happen that me and dad both work for the Clark County School District and we stayed on them and him. Me and my husband visit the school all the time and our son passed but he only passed because of our effort to help him not the staff. We have a great son but tends to need a little more help we told teachers that, we just wish they would have acted on that. The staff are really weak minded and tend to have lots of excuses. Open Quote I like the school and many students attending the school as well as all the teachers I know who have been assigned to teach my son, Alexijosh B. Baldazo. I am looking forward to having a parent-teacher conference next week to tell the teacher how happy I am that my son is attending Tim & Kathleen Harney Middle School. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
