Open Quote Zero stars. This school has below average ratings even for the state of Nevada. 4/10 on great schools, only 28 passed met the standards for Math test scores. Many of the students are sent here after receiving disciplinary action at other schools. About 80 of the time, there are kids in the office waiting to see the principal for getting into trouble that’s almost every time I stop by unannounced. A much higher rate of children than the general population are considered “special needs,” that is, it is a school that attracts students that need extra help, so the rest of the students get less education. No GATE program. Charter schools sound great but FAIL TO PERFORM (I studied this in college, google it). Many of the staff don’t return the next school year including the principal (where did Dr. Navarro go, apparently she didn’t want to be associated with a failing school anymore after building her resume). Administration fails to follow through on various situations and tasks, they are too busy putting out fires and doing damage control to even attend to basic tasks. While my son enjoys his teachers, there is a trickledown effect and he is not being readied for the real world nor getting challenged, and he obviously needs more challenging material than they offer. Do your homework parents and DON’T SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL, even if they do try to sell you on “having a dog occasionally on site” for “emotional needs.” Note: My son was dumped here without my permission and is in the top 2 of the nation in test scores I believe he’s holding this school up. I am STRONGLY EMBARRASSED to say he attends UNDERPERFORMING school. CLOSE THIS SCHOOL, it’s HOLDING my son and Nevada back!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
