As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Not happy with this. My family had a student finishing 5th grade this year. This student had dyslexia/learning issues and the teachers, mainly one of them, did not follow this students I.E.P. all year. The one teacher said mentioned, and ELA teacher I believe, felt compelled to place students in what she referred to as the "MIA Room". If a student did not respond in 2 seconds to let the teacher know they are there, the teacher pulls the student from the rest of the class online, into said MIA Room to explain why they are in there. This teacher is the only one who has done this, and instead of alerting the parents via email, she does that.
Ii am also not happy with the loaded extra websites the students have to use to do yet more work then this said student can handle. If the students are going to be taught in a virtual classroom, then ALL work should remain in the classroom just like a regular school, not these extra websites on TOP of the OLS work they already need to do. Overall, it is okay the students are at home to do schooling, but there has been mention of closing this school down, and I feel maybe it needs to be. Close Quote

Open Quote I've been with Nevada Virtual Academy for 5 years and this school year I'm pulling my 2 childern out of this school. NVVA has got bad the teachers don't care anymore there are so many students falling thru the cracks and no one cares. The courses them selfs are ok but the teachers don't even teach the childern anything. This school use to be good back 4 years ago but now I will not go back to NVVA again. Not to mention their is no activities or anything for the children to meet others. They use to have clubs and etc.. but the do not anymore. The school during the past school year almost got their funding cut because of the test scores and graduation rates are so low... They do not provide computers to the students anymore either you have to go thru a speacil part of signing up but the computers they send are horrible I have had to send them back every semester if that.

I do not recommend this school at all after 5 years strong with NVVA they have lost students and are losing more.. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
