Mary Help Of Christians Academy

I am a former student (Class of 1969) and although I really did not truly believe it at the time, my education I received here was the absolute best. Many times Sister Rosalie and I locked horns (she was in charge of the Boarding Students of which I was one of many) and I was sort of the "rebel". But hopefully she will be happy to know that I did retain the knowledge taught me and I ended up becoming a Nurse. My parents gave up much to send me here from New York City so that I could get a better education and stay away from the public school system which at that time was not so great in the big city. Many of the Sisters were great but besides Sister Rosalie, I will never, ever forget Sister Mary Francis who taught History. She kind of took me under her wing probably to keep me out of mischief but she was more like a beloved Great Aunt to me and I loved her dearly! I wish Liz Ryan, now Sister Elizabeth much happiness. She was in my class and she could be a little mischief maker too, but I see God had plans for her while she was dribbling that basketball and winning game after game for us. May Our Lady watch over all the Sisters and keep a special eye on Sister Liz! (Beverly A. Schubis)
