Open Quote A breath of fresh air! OLMC is doing what other schools think is impossible. My children are seeking out truth, beauty, and goodness in and out of school. They come home singing what they are learning and reading books that lead to lengthy conversations at our dinner table. There isn't a better investment that you can make for your children. Open Quote I’m hesitant to write this review as, then, the secret will be out. But, it is a secret too good not to share, and one from which I dream a vast multitude of students and their families will benefit. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Boonton, NJ is a forerunner in a movement to bring classical education back to the classroom. This time-tested approach teaches students how to learn and how to think. No teaching to a test, no pushing a reliance on unnecessary (and oftentimes dangerous - hello online predators, pornography and cyber bullying!) technology, and no time wasted on busywork. Rather, the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty and the study of the liberal arts and the great books are the foundations upon which students carry out their days. The community of OLMC fosters this love of learning in a Christ-centered environment. It is a true Catholic school, faithful to the Magisterium, and it has captured MY family’s hearts and minds. We are proud to admit it is the sun around which we now orbit to the extent we are in the process of uprooting our lives, selling our home, simply to exist within its solar system. Need I say more? Open Quote "Classical" Catholic schools are popping up all over the country with unbelievable success. We are so lucky we live close enough to send our children to the only one in the state of New Jersey! If you want your children to read and discuss mostly classic literature, learn logic, rhetoric, the Socratic method, Latin, seek beauty through music and art, weekly Mass, Adoration, Benediction, and monthly confession, check out Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Boonton. We are confident our children will learn HOW to THINK and REASON, not just be taught how to take a test and be trained to be a worker, which is the trend in education today. They will be given the tools to succeed at whatever they decide to do as adults. We thank God every day we have found this school! Close Quote

Open Quote I have two children at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Boonton. OLMC is a great school with so much to offer. OLMC teachers are dedicated to the education of the individual child. The low student to teacher ratios allows our educators the optimal environment to teach. Staffed with fully qualified, professional, and dedicated teachers, the academic program at OLMC stresses basic skills and the full growth of each child according to individual talents and abilities. Academic excellence is core at OLMC. The state of the art computer lab at OLMC has a large student to computer ratio, where an entire class can work simultaneously with the teacher. At OLMC we have a small community of families who share similar “core” values to one another. This small community creates a feeling of family that extends into the daily life of the students and teachers that make up your child's daily experience at school. In selecting Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, we all express and demonstrate our desire for and commitment to an education that addresses the entire child: physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
