As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

All of the schools in this district have seen an attendance increase . The 2013-14 PK-12 membership of 51,070 demonstrates an annual increase of 609 students (1.2 percent). The Kindergarten class this year was 4,472 students, the largest seen since the 1970’s.
This middle school has seen even more of an increase than other schools in the district ( as demonstrated by the numbers below. The total attendance for 2013-2014 was 757 students.
Below is the layout of the student population for the 2014-2015 school year:

Student Population: 517 (7-8 grade only)

Building Optimal Maximum Capacity: 575 students

In this school, there are unfortunatley, 20-23 students per teacher in the 7th and 8th grad classrooms. When the newly built middle school opens next year they are hoping that the students will feed into that school and ease the extensive overcrowding issue.

Looking at the chart, it is different than the one I have pulled up from the Ne department of education and the Us dept. of education. This school has had an increase in overall scores since 2003 when it first became a magnet school. This is one of the reasons that it has become such a popular school choice.

All of the teachers are committed to the success of each and every student. I have had four of my children go through this school and my last child is a 6th grader there now.I trust the faculty there to continue growing and learning through professional development and to not only make good on their promise to continue raising the test scores but to continue educating the "whole" individual student and not just a "demographic.

Excellent Four stars for this school. First hand experience asa parent since 2003 Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
