The John Crosland School

After just 6 month at JCS my sons self-efface of his ability to learn had almost fully restored, he knew he belonged, and was eager to attend school. Our board is committed, our teachers are responsive and our students get all the attention they need.

The care and academic dedication to my daughter by JCS staff has built her self confidence and social skills tremendously.

The school has gone through a lot of changes in the past 3 years. It is currently under the direction of a former head of school with a new head of school starting this coming Fall. The teaching staff remains focused on providing a safe and educational environment for our kids. They continue to care for each child and try to bring the best out of each child. While our children can't be "fixed", the school provides kids with strategies to cope, learn, and thrive in a caring environment.

We have had our child enrolled at The John Crosland School for several years now and feel that it provides the best educational fit for him as well as the most supportive community for our entire family. Like a home away from home, he feels safe, nurtured, and valued for who he is and where he is in his development. More than accommodating his unique learning style, this small school has provided him with an abundant amount of confidence, compassion, and joy for school!

Under the current administration this school is a disgrace. It used to be a place for students with learning needs to feel comfortable and grow. Families really enjoyed being part of the community. Now it is a place where leadership and families are divided, parents and administration are at odds. Parents want quality education and safety for their kids and administration wants money and their feet kissed. Many families do not have a place to send their kids to school where all learning and social needs will be met. Such a shame.
