Open Quote I attended St. Thomas More for pre-school through 8th grade and am 23 now. All I can say is, only send your child here if you want them to receive an insufficient education (especially in math and sciences) in an environment where any kind of thinking outside the box is discouraged and bullying is rampant.

Some examples: my older sister was extremely intelligent and not challenged at all by any of her classes. My parents pushed for her to move up a grade but the administration wouldn't let her, nor would they install any sort of gifted program, saying that everyone should be equal.

In first grade, I would very often get done with my classwork early then get out a book to read; one day my teacher walked up to my mom after school and said, "All you and your daughter care about is reading!" Really? That's a problem?

I attended Notre Dame de Sion high school and found that I was way behind many other students in my freshman algebra class, as my math classes at STM had left me wholly unprepared.

Not to mention the fact that I was bullied all throughout my time at STM and it took years for me to regain my self-esteem.

I'm very successful now, but only because I was a strong person and chose to challenge myself and be my best regardless of the situation.

If you have a child for whom you want the best education and a good learning environment, and you don't want to put them though hell, then don't send them here. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
