For example, Ewing Marion Kauffman High, a public charter school, outperforms Raytown Senior High on state assessments, with 39.6% of its students proficient or better in Algebra I compared to 10.1% at Raytown Senior High. Addressing the challenges faced by Raytown Senior High will likely require a comprehensive approach that addresses both academic and non-academic factors impacting student success.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I love the positive and supportive teachers and administrators at RHS. This site is insane to have them at one star. If they are a 1 star, I'd consider myself beyond blessed to send my children to a two star. Close Quote

Open Quote I went to this school for two years, and after moving to Ruskin, I wish I could go back. This school is as diverse as they come. There's no one ethic group that hangs out in one club. Everyone is different with all sorts of activities to do. I went to Book Club Cafe, and don't worry, you don't have to read a single book. You just hang out with the librarian with a few other students, discussing a whole range of topics.

The school is every active. There's always a club, sport, or group hanging out after school. There are some strict teachers, but there's always some awesome ones. I miss them all, I had some of these teachers for two years, or just my freshman year, and when I visited the beginning of my 11, after I moved, they were sad to hear that. Teachers cared.

The only problem I know of is that trouble makers get away with a lot. I had one friend who practically walked out of school so many times, yet she spends most of her school day hanging out in the halls.

The level of education is well. They teach you more than other schools in that area. They do not cater to small stuff, but allow you to grow. I've learned a lot from this school and I regret leaving. Close Quote

Open Quote In the 60's and 70's I'm sure it was a great school but honestly now it has gone to hell. The school is more worried about "diversity" than actually producing productive members of society. The school has teachers who baby-sit the students who act up and then send them to the principal just so they can get a slap on the wrist and go back to class again the next day or they are sent to ISS (In school suspension a small room which resembles a time out area)where students sleep on their desks and fill out coloring book pages. If the school wanted to be better they would just expel the "trouble-makers" and stop pretending that they're going to get anywhere in life and come to the realization that not everyone deserves a second chance. I wonder what ever happened to juvenile detention centers?
The teachers don't really teach, rather they try to be the students friends and talk about their daily lives with them. For those of you who don't want your child attending a school with 70% trouble making kids who have no future what so ever, don't plan on sending them to Raytown High. Close Quote

Open Quote "This school is an excellent school for education. I learned alot because of this school and I would recommend this school to any parent who wants to find a good high school for there son and/or daughter. This school is very diversed. The students here do not care on what kind of car you drive, or your financial situation, they just want to be friends.Raytown High offers an excellent A+ program, which allows students to tutor kids, and get a college scholarship at the same time. Now this school may not be the best in the country, but its a pretty darn good school." About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
