Open Quote My brother graduated from De La Salle after this past school year. In the time he was there, the school's leadership took on a radical leftist ideology that seemed totally inappropriate to the school's mission. Here is a tiny taste, just to paint the picture:

-Every week there was some "'social justice' cause du jour" that was rammed down the students' throats, in the form of posters plastered all over, and baked into the curriculum, which seemed designed to indoctrinate rather than educate. A huge emphasis was placed on the "black lives matter" in particular; don't white or Asian lives matter as well?

-My brother had an English "teacher in training" who was a self-confessed Communist, and had the students reading Marxist and feminist literature, at the exclusion of everything else. Even the more quiet students in the class were expressing amusement at the lack of balance in the curriculum.

-One day, they made the students sit in a circle, and handed out fliers petitioning the State for some government program! They went to the students one-by-one, so that it was obvious to everyone which students took one and which didn't-- a similar tactic used by rigged elections in repressive dictatorships like North Korea. Is it appropriate to be lobbying the government in the classroom?

-The school had a tendency to invite radical leftist speakers. One good example was a fellow named "Chris Crass", a self-described anarchist and radical leftist, who gave a race baiting, class warfare speech.

Parents that want they children to get a true Catholic education need to look elsewhere than this school, which has gone totally bonkers. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
